Station Camp Elementary Administration
Dr. Phillip Holt's Bio:
Dr. Holt has served in public schools his entire career as a teacher, Dean of Instruction, Athletic Director, Assistant Principal, and now Principal of Station Camp Elementary. He has completed the Principal’s Leadership Academy of Nashville, a program provided by Metro Nashville Public Schools and Vanderbilt University, where he was able to be mentored by some of the top district principals and district leaders. Through this program, he learned effective leadership practices to lead a school by using data to inform decisions and creating a shared leadership model to best meet student needs. At the conclusion of this program, he was selected to be a part of a cohort that traveled to Guangzhou, China to tour their schools and collaborate with their teachers, administrators, and district leaders for two weeks to learn, and share, best practices to promote student achievement. In addition to these experiences, Dr. Holt has also served as a Leadership Coach and TEAM Trainer for the Tennessee Department of Education. During his time as principal of Station Camp Elementary, the school received its first designation as a Reward School by the Tennessee Deparment of Education, which is the top distinction the Deparment of Education gives to schools. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Middle Tennessee State University, a Master’s Degree in Education Administration and Supervision from Lipscomb University, and his Doctorate in Learning Organizations and Strategic Change from Lipscomb University. Dr. Holt is married with three daughters and is proud to be a part of the Station Camp community.
Mrs. Tonya Devore's Bio:
I have been happily married to my husband, Greg, for 14 years and blessed to have the opportunity to raise a blended family of five children. We have four children that have graduated college, one that is completing her OT doctorate program and a son at that just graduated Gallatin High School. We enjoy spending time on the Tennessee River boating, riding our motorcycle and following our University of Tennessee Volunteer sports teams!
I began my teaching career at Howard Elementary, where I was a second grade teacher. I went to graduate school during that time and received a Masters in administration. I began my administration career at Gallatin High School as an assistant principal. I have had the privilege of being at all grade levels.
When I came to SCE, I was overwhelmed with the love and compassion for children that I found from every single person in the building. The parents at SCE are always willing to help and make our school a great learning environment. I am honored and blessed to come to work everyday at SCE and I am extremely excited about the upcoming year to see what it holds for all of us.
Dr. Karen Jarratt's Bio:
Dr. Karen Jarratt is a life-long educator and has been in Sumner County for most of her career. She has served as a special education preschool and resource teacher, elementary teacher, middle school math coach, Lead Educator, assistant principal in Robertson County and now assistant principal for Station Camp Elementary. Dr. Jarratt holds a B.S. from East Tennessee State University, M. Ed. from Vanderbilt University, and a Doctorate from Union University. She has also completed the Sumner County Leadership Academy through Union University and Instructional Coaching program through Lipscomb University. In addition to these experiences, Dr. Jarratt has also served as a Leadership Coach and Math Coach for the Tennessee Department of Education. She loves spending her free time with her children and grandchildren, swimming, reading, and traveling. She is very excited to be part of the Bison Family!
